Delete your Wine ID: AI Sommelier Pairing account

This page explains how to permanently delete your account and all associated data for the app Wine ID: AI Sommelier Pairing, published by Kawaii Inc (Google Play package com.kawaii.winescanner). It applies to the Android app, the iOS app, and the scanner.wine website. You do not need the app installed, or to be signed in, to use this page or to make a request.

How to delete your account

  1. Email support@scanner.wine with the subject line “Delete my Wine ID account”.
  2. Include the email address you sign in with (your Google or Apple account email). Sending the request from that address is the fastest way for us to verify it is you.
  3. We acknowledge every request within 5 business days. If the request did not come from the account email, we will ask you to confirm ownership first.
  4. Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted within 30 days of your request, and we email you a confirmation when it is done.

You can request deletion even if you have already uninstalled the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

What is deleted

We delete everything associated with your account:

  • Your sign-in account (Google or Apple sign-in identity, email address, and display name).
  • Your profile and settings.
  • Every wine identification you created, including the label photos you uploaded.
  • Your cellar: every bottle, purchase price, retailer, storage location, quantity, and drinking window.
  • Consumption history, personal ratings, and tasting notes.
  • Your taste profile and personalized recommendations.
  • All AI sommelier chat conversations.
  • Any identification pages you shared publicly on scanner.wine.
  • Your credit balance and usage history.

What is kept, and for how long

No account data, content, or profile information is kept after deletion. The following residual records exist, each with a fixed lifetime:

  • Database backups— we do not keep separate backup copies of our database, so deleted records cannot be restored by us. Our cloud provider (Google Cloud) may hold residual copies in its own internal systems for up to 6 months under its data deletion policy, after which they are gone.
  • Server logs— technical request logs that may contain your user ID or IP address are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Crash reports — kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days; they contain a device identifier, not your name or email.
  • Usage analytics— pseudonymous, device-level event data (Firebase Analytics) is retained for up to 14 months and is not linked to your account once it is deleted.
  • Purchase records— if you bought a subscription or credits, Google Play or the Apple App Store keep their own transaction records under their own policies and legal obligations. We do not control those records, and after deletion nothing on our side links them to you.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us. Before deleting, cancel in Google Play subscriptions or in your Apple ID settings so you are not billed again.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You can delete individual identifications, cellar bottles, tasting notes, and chat conversations from inside the app at any time. If you want specific data removed but want to keep your account, email support@scanner.wine and tell us what to remove.
